Content Marketing Trends to Try this Summer

Now that summer is almost here, it’s the perfect time to step back, take a look at what types of content have resonated with your target audience, and think about new trends you’d like to try. Here are some of our current favorite content marketing trends that you can try out this summer:

Better content experience through UX

People should find what they’re looking for when they go on your website, whether they’re looking to purchase some products while you’re running a summer promo or wanting to read your new blog post. Details such as page layout, page load times, and responsiveness across different browsers can come together to create a user-friendly experience. Especially if you are promoting your site on social media (Link in Bio), it’s important to create a content experience that people will love and even share with friends!

Strong SEO

If you’re taking the time to notice marketing trends so that you can create relevant content, the next step is getting your content in front of the people who will connect with your content the most. Having a strong SEO strategy and doing keyword research are powerful ways to do this, whether you are promoting your business on a website or launching a new product. After you find keywords that match the context of your website, incorporating these keywords into your website copywriting or product descriptions will strengthen your SEO.

Hashtags Specific to Your Brand

Keyword research for SEO also ties in with doing hashtag research if you are creating content for social media platforms. Just like having keywords that match the context of your website can boost your SEO, using hashtags that align with your content can improve your social media engagement and get your content in front of your target audience. Start by making a list of common words/hashtags you see other brands in your industry using. You can even make hashtag lists based on types of posts your brand creates consistently, such as specific product features, behind the scenes photos, or recipe posts. When looking for hashtags, you can see how popular that hashtag is by looking at how many people have used that hashtag. Find hashtags that vary in popularity, and also find hashtags that are more specific to your niche. Hashtags that are more specific will normally be less popular, but will allow you to reach a more targeted audience. Along with using hashtags that are catered towards your niche, use hashtags that are specific to your brand. Using more popular hashtags along with more specific hashtags will allow your brand to have a wider reach.

Content Repurposing

Content repurposing is a smart way to stay consistent when posting while also increasing your brand’s online presence across multiple platforms. When repurposing content, you can take the same piece of content and modify it based on the platform. For example, if your brand has a podcast, you can also set up video recording along with audio recording to create shorter video clips for platforms such as Facebook or Instagram. You’d be able to pull multiple clips from your podcast, so that it’d be easier to post more consistently on social media. Another example would be using that same podcast and grabbing quotes from the transcript to create graphics. If your brand doesn’t have a podcast, and instead mainly relies on photography or graphics, your brand can use that same content across social media platforms, but adjust the language you’re using based on the platform. For example, content used on LinkedIn would come off as more professional compared to Instagram, which would have a more casual tone.

Video Marketing

Videos are a powerful way to form connections, not just on Youtube, but also on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn. They’ve easily become more popular in the past year, especially as TikTok trends have reached other platforms like Instagram and Facebook. Noticing trends and using your brand’s voice to create content that resonates with your audience will increase brand awareness and also get your audience excited about your future content.

Another trend to try this summer is going live on social media. Find ways to add value to your audience and bring your followers into the conversation. While you’re live, you’ll be able to respond quickly to comments to keep your audience engaged.

That brings us to our recommendation in June’s toolbox: Final Cut Pro ($300) or Adobe Premiere (Included with Creative Cloud subscription $53/month). If you’re looking to create videos this summer or if you want to take your video editing to the next level, Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere are professional video editing tools. Either of these editing softwares will allow your brand to tell your story well, whether you are making longer clips for a platform like Youtube or shorter videos for a platform like Instagram.

Reach and Connect with Your Followers

When creating content for the summer, developing strong strategies will empower your brand to reach and connect with your followers and even form new relationships with your target audience.
